"A bouquet and palate filled fresh citrus and mineral complexities, ripe apple and white peach and a mix of spice and nut from barrel fermentation. Salivating, saline, crisp and dry, a medium+ (ish) weighted wine with taut youthful energy, palate squeeze and low impacts from oak. A lovely aperitif expression, perfect with baked fish or seafood pasta dishes. Well-made with best drinking from late 2024 through 2029. 93 Points. Excellent."

Tiritiri Chardonnay 2023
"A bouquet of complexity and instant appeal with texture, shape and form followed by scents of ripe citrus and tree fruits, some white peach and lemon. Layers of spices and fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet are encased in a silky texture that touches the palate first, enhanced with a fresh new acid line and layers of oak spices. Complex and new, lengthy, dry and well made. Best from 2025 through 2033+. 95 Points. Outstanding."

"A captivating, fresh, varietal and fruity bouquet with aroma sand flavours of fresh green pear, red apple flesh and spice. A floral note adds charm. Precise, fruity and equally captivating textures with a satin mouthfeel followed by contrasting acidity and flavours of ripe white fleshed fruits. The wine finishes with a spice note. Great drinking from 2022 through 2026. 93 Points. Excellent."

Tiritiri Pinot Gris 2022
"A classy Nelson producer which can always be relied upon. A prestige Pinot Gris, concentrated, seamless, lots of quince pie with hints of grapefruit and nectarine. Great texture."
John Hawkesby
"A completely enticing bouquet of wild white flowers and fresh white fleshed stone fruits, some sweet grapefruit and moments of red apple. There's a distinctive scents package of mineral and earth as well as a wild ferment and lees quality. Lovely generosity as the wine touches the palate, also youthful with a seam of ripe almost sweet acidity. Flavours mirror the bouquet led by citrus then apple, softer raw sugar sweet barrel notes and a chalky mineral texture that fills the palate nicely. An excellent example, youthful and well made. Best drinking from late 2023 through 2027+. An excellent wine with value pricing.

Tiritiri Chardonnay 2022
"A complex and highly textured bouquet with scents of fine gravel and sand, a core of peach and sweet citrus flesh, layers of fine lees with an autolysis effect adding substance and weight [to the bouquet]. No oak. On the palate, a fantastic wine showing the true flavours of the vineyard with pure soil and natural lees qualities, a core of stone fruit and citrus, flavours, great acid line and a dry finish with a sense of warmth and generosity at the end. No oak, very long finish, a wine for all Chardonnay fans to try. 96 Points. Outstanding"

Tiritiri Sauvignon Blanc 2019
"Albarino via Nelson, a kindred spirit to San Sebastian, perhaps? Or not.
Juicy, light weight white, cucumber, tonic water, a little faint creamy nuttiness just shyly putting is head above the wall. Soft, supple, simple and easy-pleasing - acid presence a little shy leaving the wine finishing a touch blousy, but decent. A good switch out white for doing something different with your day. I like it. 89 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Albarino 2020

Moutere Albarino 2015
"An intense, powerful chardonnay with real complexity, weight and richness. Strong citrus, tree fruit flavours together with a thrilling saline/oyster shell influence underpinned by a thread of mouth-watering acidity. A delicious wine that promises to get even better with bottle age. 97 points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2022
"An intriguing nose that's no doubt influenced by its wild yeast component, bringing pretty talc and white-flower-like aromatics. This medium-bodied wine offers lovely weight on the seamless palate, which exudes a creamy texture. The acidity is mouthwatering, leaving flavors of apple, lemon and a hint of pastry on the finish. It fades a little more rapidly than I'd like, but it's an attractive and varietal Albariño that will provide immediate pleasure. 90 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Albarino 2020
"An updated classic style with all the things you love about Chardonnay but given a modern silhouette. Spiced apple, a hint of creamy, fluffy butter almost verging on caramel, with a zingy acidity to stop it all from tasting retro. Unafraid of expressing a more oxidative side like the famous 2014 Moutere (Home Block) Chardonnay. As the winemaking has become more daringly hands-off, the wine is also needing a bit more air and time to coalesce in the glass. One part decadent, one part terroir, just a hint of flint, just enough oak to lend sweetness. The key element here is the acidity which opens the palate up and helps it express apple skin phenolics, spice and earthy, clay-like minerality. A grey-toned sky rather than the typical sunny high-contrast fruit from this piece of earth, An expression of the vintage perhaps? Definitely not your usual squeaky clean Chardonnay and all the better for its edginess. I like it and I keep coming back to it. It tastes grown up in a nutty, zingy and flinty modern Meursault kind of way. 17.5 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Chardonnay 2021
"Another exemplar from the Neudorf team with a bouquet of spiced white flowers, fine lees complexity, ripe white fleshed fruits with a citrus overlay. Excellent day 1, even better day 2, a wine that will reward if cellared. On the palate, delicious, textured, fine, complex and dry. Flavours of citrus, apple and quince, lemon and white peach. The lees and mineral qualities shine on day 2. An excellent example with length, texture and finesse. Best from late 2025 through 2030+. 95 Points. Outstanding."

Moutere Albarino 2019
"Aromatic and enticing bouquet filled with aromas of Asian spices and fresh orchard peach, sweet citrus and a fine salt-like seasoning. Crisp, refreshing, salivating and dry on the palate. Fruit and spice flavours repeat as the wine transitions easily from stone fruit to tangerine and lemon citrus enhanced by the acidity and fresh lite salty mouthfeel. Delicious and ready to enjoy from today and through 2025. 94 Points Excellent."

Rosie's Block Moutere Albarino 2020
"Bright straw-yellow colour with a little depth, paler on the rim. The nose is very elegant and finely concentrated with tightly bound, slender aromas of white florals and white stonefruits, along with a hint of saline and minerals. This has a good heart with intensity and presence. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a finely concentrated core of white stonefruits and white florals, along with subtle nutty and mineral elements unfolding saline detail. The fruit has good depth with light phenolic textures and crisp acidity lending a thirst-quenching mouthfeel. The textures carry the wine to a long, dry, zesty finish. This is a finely concentrated dry Albarino with white stonefruit and white floral flavours on a fine-textured palate with presence and taut acidity. 18/20. 4.5 Stars."
Raymond Chan
Moutere Albarino 2017
"Lovely citrus freshness enlivens the red fruits flavours (think cranberry, slightly under ripe strawberries) while the small amount that was fermented in old oak barrels (7%) adds roundness and complexity. A familiar streak of powdery minerality weaves its way through the palate.

"Complex and youthful with a seductive and alluring and complete bouquet with scents of ripe white fleshed tree fruits, crushed raw cashew nut, a mix of yellow fleshed stone fruit and layers of lees spices, wild flowers and white smoke of oak and soil. The youth and tautness touches the palate briefly before a satin touch and flavours of citrus and tree fruits follow. As the wine opens out across the palate and gains warmth flavours of peach and soil, flowers and fine chalky textures with a lees complexity and mineral core. A wine for the cellar please with best drinking from late 2024 or early 2025 through 2035+. Fantastic wine. 96 Points."

"Deeper and more brooding on the nose than the regular version. Real depth and texture, and much less obvious acidity than the regular bottling. Very seductive! I don't think I would guess this had a clay-amphora element; the texture seems quite mainstream. But the results are very successful. For food rather than as an aperitif. Serious stuff! Long. 17 Points."

"Fabulous bouquet, complex and textured with shape and form. Aromas and flavours of wild peaches, gun flint and grapefruit flesh. The combination of mineral stony soils and spices from barrel layer in texture and complexity accentuated by a classic Nelson acid line. Satin smooth with layers of contrast from fine tannins, acidity, core white fleshed fruits laced with citrus, and texture. Best drinking from later in 2023 through 2027+. 95 Points. Outstanding."

"Fine, restrained and fantastically appealing on the nose - there really is a lot going on. The aromas are subtle but broad with notes of beeswax, quince, apple, honeysuckle, smokey hibachi and full-cream butter malolactic influence. The palate is well-focused, creamy-textured and very tasty with natural, golden delicious apple/cider flavours, crunchy, salivating acidity and a long, fine finish. This really has it all. 96 Points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2021
"Formerly known as Twenty Five Rows, the 2021 Chardonnay Rosie’s Block Amphora is now so-named as it is entirely fermented in a clay vase, the fermentation starting naturally in this handpicked but hands-off wine. While full and round with plenty of fruit weight and flesh on its bones, it also has an innate lightness, never being weighed down. Pure fruited and glacier clean, it has a graceful finish that seems to lift, akin to a plane taking off from a runway. 91 Points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2021
"Fragrant, just a little floral, fruit laden and distinctive bouquet - ripe sweet peach, very secure layer of mineral, a freshness and yellow florals layer, varietal. On the palate - very taut and fresh with plenty of acidity tempering some very ripe peach flavours, a citrus almost tangerine like flavour adds to the depth and concentration mid-palate; the back palate has a noteworthy bite of citrus peel then peach, some very fine tannins add a light phenolic touch. Lovely example of an emerging style from a variety that requires some attention and time to get to know."

"Full of youthful impact, the classy 2016 vintage was estate-grown and hand-picked in Rosie's Block, at Upper Moutere, and tank-fermented with indigenous yeasts. Handled entirely without oak, it is vibrant, concentrated and tangy, with deep, citrusy, slightly limey and spicy flavours, a salty streak, and an appetisingly crisp, dryish (6 grams/litre of residual sugar), lasting finish. Five Stars."

Home Block Moutere Chardonnay 2020
"The 2020 Chardonnay Home Block Moutere is a little more than medium in weight, but it is harnessed by tension and power. As always, it's wild-fermented in barrel with just 10% new wood, which marks a significant reduction over the past decade, when 25-30% was the norm. The white stone fruit leads, while the nutty oak and lees-derived pastry notes are the backing singers. There's also an excellent track of acidity that pulls the wine through, and a reasonable 13.5% alcohol that is the result of a decision to pick earlier in recent years, maintaining greater energy and firmness. 94 Points."
Rebecca Gibb MW
Home Block Moutere Chardonnay 2020
"Initially brooding and inward looking without being austere, there are multiple subtle layers throughout every part of this wine. Hints of flinty reduction, cinnamon oak and an impression of white peach take turns centre stage without ever dominating. Incredibly complex yet controlled, this possesses impeccable composure, coiled power and palate-staining intensity without ever relying on artifice or showiness (there is only 10% new oak here). Without much scrutiny, it is already clear this is a formidable Chardonnay. It hits all the hallmarks of greatness; power, poise, concentration and length; but look deeper and you start to see elements which must derive from site. For at least the past four years, the Moutere Home Block has possessed brooding depth and an energy which vibrates across the palate. With the winemaking interventions pared back progressively, year after year, it is hard to believe that this expression isn't somehow innate to the place. For the purposes of cellaring, I'd say that the 2020 comes across more elegant than the 2019, which was richer and denser in parts but also more powerful. However, the energy and finesse in the 2020 will likely keep it fresh and interesting every step along the way. For those who managed to secure multiple bottles of both, comparing these two vintages side by side will provide geeky, intellectual wine joy for years to come!"

"Complex, layered, varietal, fruity, floral and very enticing bouquet. Aromas of dark spiced cherry, red apple, some pomegranate and plum. Layers of new and older wine barrel with a sweet spice and mild toasty qualities - a touch of clove and vanilla then a fine raw cashew nut quality. Complex and youthful. Flavours transition through the palate and reflect the bouquet - youthful, ripe and varietal. Oak provides the foundation delivering some spice and mild toasty complexities, tannins and acidity layer in a tautness and distinctive mouthfeel. "Transparent garnet. Much more complex on the nose than the Tom's Block 2020 Pinot Noir with really savoury, yet fruity balance and interest. Continues to play on the palate after tasting. Long. "Home Block, not to be confused with Home Boy. Meaty, gamey, dark cherry-loaded pinot noir but soft, supple and with satiny flow. Has some nice concentration but feels fresh and floaty, a little malty detail in tannin and seasoning does good for added extras. It's a fragrant, lush and lovely wine. Very true to region, but elevating, per se. A very good release. 93 Points."

"Great colour intensity and brightness leading to a bouquet of complexity, place and time with layers of fresh dark cherry and dried spice, wild red flowers and a stony mineral quality. The oak signature is distinctive with scents of clove and bacon, some five spice and smoke. Overall youthful and new. "I guess they didn't opt for the savagnin. From Moutere in Nelson. A long way from Galicia, but you can always make garlic and chilli oil prawns at home. Good drinking here. Curious; personality had me repeat attacking the glass. Sea spray, cucumber, orange marmalade scents. In the palate, more of that saline stuff going on, but settled into gentle nuttiness and a vein of baked apple fruit character. Darts and dashes in the mouth. Dry finish. Really good drink. 90 Points"

"I have a thing for Kiwi Chardonnay. Its day will come. It doesn't currently get the respect it deserves, but with wines like these from Neudorf, and the stunning wines of Kumeu River and others, things will change."
Jamie Goode, UK
"Initially shy, this quickly expands in the glass. Deep aromas of baking spice, toasted muesli, manuka honey, apricot and poached pears emerge to create a heady, exotic and hedonistic experience.
The full-bodied palate is decadent, balancing creaminess with a raspy acidity which carries through to the finish where Nashi pears, butterscotch, savoury spice and a late touch of skins-y bitterness come together, giving much-needed bite to an otherwise soft and diffuse fruit on the back-palate. An unusual expression of this wine, and perhaps a result of the 2022 vintage's particular challenges with Pinot Gris?
Uncharacteristically developed at this stage (which is why it is so complex already), it might not be one for old bones, but the exotic expression is undoubtedly unique and it would be amazing with a platter of smoked fish, ripe soft cheese and flatbreads with dukkah and baba ganoush! 16.5+ Points."
Stephen Wong MW
Home Block Moutere Pinot Gris 2022
"Initially unyielding with smoky oak and that whiff/layer of oxidative complexity which seems to be a character of this vintage, but all is rapidly forgotten when the wine reveals itself. Undeniably powerful and commanding with a presence that is hard to ignore. Riper, with sweet citrus to almost stonefruit. A classy lick of oak, just enough to embellish, not distract. Layered, deep, unfurling, ripe, concentrated in that sappy Mendoza way. The nose is voluminous yet so complex - spanning everything from oud wood to saline, mineral and nutty, in a word, majestic. This is without question, one of the country's absolute finest Chardonnays. Sheer power, length, depth and intensity - this is not subtle. Masterful, but it will need time to come together. Phenolics are there, as is acidity but everything is coated in this tangible sense of power and density. 18.5 Points."

"Lovely medium texture in the mouth with delicious peach and melon flavours. The texture is enhanced with saline notes while the acidity is very soft yet juicy in the very long finish.
The Moutere clay soils the fruit for this wine was grown on are evident in the rich, opulent texture but it is the layers of flavour that make it immediately attractive. The richness belies the off-dry to dry nature of the wine with a distinct saline character in the finish makes it a perfect match with cooked seafood.

"This has a vibrant and crisp, apple and honeydew core with a fresh and quite fleshy feel to the palate. Good weight and balance here. 92 Points."
Nick Stock for James Suckling
Moutere Pinot Gris 2017
"The nose is soft and elegant in expression unfolding layers of detail with white and yellow stone fruits, pears, hints of honeysuckle, nuances of exotic florals and subtle flinty, minerally and nutty notes. This has finesse and piquancy and grows in depth and concentration with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has a very refined, concentrated, but rounded core with flavours of white stone fruits along with an amalgam of pears, white florals and subtle, flinty, mineral and nutty detail. The fruit has vitality and is enlivened by fresh, lacy acidity, and the wine flows with excellent energy along a soft-textured line, leading to a taut, lingering finish. This is an elegantly concentrated, refined, but intense off-dry Pinot Gris with vibrant, detailed flavours of stone fruits, pears, florals and minerals on a lively palate. Five stars, 18.5/20"
Raymond Chan
Moutere Pinot Gris 2017
"Attractive, dry pinot gris with concentrated pear, apple, ginger and subtle honeysuckle flavours. There's also a suggestion of anise. A seamless wine with a silken texture and pleasingly dry finish. Delicious wine. 95 Points, Five Stars."
Bob Campbell MW
Moutere Pinot Gris 2018
"Floral then fruity, then floral again. A focused and pure fruited bouquet with sweet pear and apple aromas, a little white spice and core of minerality. On the palate - fleshy and juicy with salivating acidity, flavours mirror the nose adding in a light lemon note. Balance and well made with a lengthy finish. 93 Points."
Cameron Douglas MS
Moutere Pinot Gris 2018
"Robust, flavoursome pinot gris with classic stewed apple, pear, anise and quince flavours. The wine is pleasantly dry without being too austere -
Bob Campbell MW
Moutere Pinot Gris 2019
"White nectarine and pear, apple and white blossoms, plush, fruity, varietal and attractive bouquet. On the palate - white spices and brown pear, warming alcohol with contrasting refreshing acidity, a core of fruit, superfine chalky tannins, mineral and floral. This pure fruited wine has a lot to offer with balance, weight, fruit, spice and generosity all evenly paced through the wine, quite complex and definitely fine. Lengthy finish, youthful and rewarding. 94 Points."
Cameron Douglas MS
Moutere Pinot Gris 2019
"Intense, bright-fruited nose that promises more on the palate than simple spiciness. Quite substantial and serious for a New Zealand Pinot Gris (which have in the past often been too sweet). This wine has lots to give and reminds me more of a good, dry Alsace version than anything Italian. Quite a peacock's tail on the end. Superior. 16.5+ Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Moutere Pinot Gris 2019
"A midweight, off-dry Pinot Gris offering subtle floral and savory, biscuit flavors followed up with pear fruit flavors. Some 30% of the wine undergoes fermentation in puncheons, contributing to the gentle midpalate. Good depth of concentration thanks to low yields. At this early stage, the finish is a little hard, which could be a reflection of the dry, hot season. 90 Points"
Rebecca Gibb MW
Moutere Pinot Gris 2019
"Light, bright yellow colour, with a gas-pipe reduction aroma, backed by honeysuckle. It brings to mind J.J. Prüm Mosel. In the mouth, it's intense and tight, drier than expected and quite searing in its acidity. Tangy crispness to finish. A very fine, intense, penetrating riesling. It will richly reward cellaring. 93 Points."
Huon Hooke
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"A notably cool year. Very pure and crystalline. Tastes bone dry despite its analytical 8 g/l RA. Acid is 8.3 g/l and pH just 2.9 on average. 20% went into old oak. Spontaneous fermentation. An array of extremely pure, recognisably correct Riesling aromas. Should age well but already giving well balanced pleasure. 17 Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"The 2016 Moutere Dry Riesling comes from a one-hectare parcel planted in Rosie's Block. It's "Kiwi dry" in style, measuring somewhere between five and seven grams per litre residual sugar. Lime and tangerine drive the nose and palate, but there's a hint of riper fruit, like peach. This medium-bodied Riesling has a slightly creamy mid-palate and a crisp, refreshing finish. It should drink well for several years. 90 Points."
Joe Czerwinski, for Robert Parker Wine Advocate
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"A youthful, medium-bodied wine, it has searching, delicate, lemony and appley flavours, biscuity and minerally notes, and a dryish (7.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), long finish. A very age-worthy wine. Four and a half stars."
Michael Cooper
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"Fragrant perfume, light honey, lime juice, touch of slate. Crunchy-crisp texture, bright citrus and green apple, mouthwatering saline acidity, great length and vivacity. Sheer hedonism in its way, adult catnip. Fantastic vibe here. 94 Points."
Mike Bennie
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"Full straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-gold hues, lighter on the edge. The nose is elegantly concentrated and intense with penetrating aromas of lime fruit entwined with hints of toast and suggestions of honeysuckle, along with thirst-quenching mineral detail. Dry to taste and lightmedium bodied, the palate has a soft and rounded core with concentrated lime fruit and an amalgam of florals, honeysuckle and toast, unveiling mineral nuances. The palate is underlined by refined phenolic textures providing good linearity, and integrated acidity giving positive drive. The wine carries to a gentle, lingering finish. This is a softly concentrated dry Riesling with a rounded core of lime, floral and subtle toasty notes, on a fine, linear palate. Serve as an aperitif or with Asian fare over the next 4-5 years. 18.5/20. 5 Stars."
Raymond Chan
Moutere Riesling Dry 2016
"A lovely Riesling bouquet with aromas of Meyer lemon, mandarin, limeflower, tangerine, apple and white blossoms. Dry on the palate with flavours that reflect the nose, high acidity, loads of wet-stone mineral flavours and lengthy finish. Balanced and well made with a long development period ahead. 93 Points."
Cameron Douglas MS
Moutere Riesling Dry 2017
"Convincing varietal aroma in the fruit spectrum with lots of citrus - lime? on the (dry) finish. Already a pleasure to drink. Very clean with crystalline acidity. Finishes just slightly astringent but so much better than the too-sweet, oily, phenolic NZ Rieslings of old. 16 Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Moutere Riesling Dry 2017
"Bright apple and lime-juice aromas with a very pure, fragrant and fresh impression on the nose that leads to a richly flavoured palate with impressive concentration and bright, lively, fresh apples and limes. 94 Points."
Moutere Riesling Dry 2017
Moutere Riesling Dry 2017
"Deliciously dry riesling with ripe lime zest, mandarin blossom and salty oyster shell flavours, together with other spice and floral notes if you look hard enough. Even better is the exquisite sweet sour tension as a subtle sweetness and juicy acidity hug each other. Sublime now, even better with age if you prefer more mature Riesling. 96 Points. Five Stars."
Bob Campbell MW
Moutere Riesling Dry 2019
"Lime flower and white peach, lemon and fresh red apple, floral and pristine, pure bouquet. Youthful, tense, refreshing and dry on the palate. Flavours mirror the citrus, stone fruit and tree fruit exactly. Long pure and delicious. A perfect Summer aperitif. 96 Points."
Cameron Douglas MS
Moutere Riesling Dry 2019
"A penetrating wine of precision and sharp intensity. Green apple, lemon and lime zest, a sort of bitter lemon drink quinine bite and tang, saline, fine powdery texture, dry and crunchy through its long finish. A subtle perfume lingers. Top shelf. 95 Points."
Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
Moutere Riesling Dry 2019
"Excellent extract and no obvious residual sugar. Strong kumquat notes and pretty dry on the end but not drying. Very bright fruit... An impressive proper wine with a lovely peacock's tail of flavour on the end. No hurry to drink but it is already broachable. 16.5 Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Moutere Riesling Dry 2019
"This is such a delicious wine. It has freshness and texture and weight and concentration and brightness and interest and just that general sense of moreish yum."
Mike Bennie
Moutere Riesling Dry 2019
"Nelson a beautiful region to visit. I'd recommend it. Sweet dark cherry, mocha, a sappy herbal and floral perfume, with a bit of pepper and char. Medium-bodied, with a deep core of juicy ripe cherry, peat and spice, a subtle tamarillo tang, cola nut, earthy tannin, and a long slightly tart finish. Individual. Excellent. 93+ points."
Gary Walsh, The Wine Front, AUS
Moutere Pinot Noir 2017
"Nelson is a home away from home for the Spanish Albarino grape if this wine is anything to go by. It has typical orange/mandarin flavours, good weight and subtle spiciness. Flavoursome in a truly dry, but not austere, style and boasting a lengthy finish."
Bob Campbell MW
Moutere Albarino 2016
"...highly atmospheric, unashamedly pungent and proud of its sexy, fresh sweat and wild herb aromatics. The unctuous texture conceals structure wicked as a sheathed stiletto. About as good as Sauvignon gets."

Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2005
"Nelson’s rockstar wine producer, Neudorf"
Bob Campbell MW
"Neudorf are one of New Zealand's most famous wineries. They're based in the Nelson region, where the first vines of the modern era were planted on South Island, and of late they've had some hugely positive press, including Bob Campbell's first 100 point score (Bob is probably the most famous Kiwi wine journalist).
I like their wines a good deal, and particularly the Chardonnays, which are just lovely. New Zealand Chardonnay is a relatively untold story, but it's one that I'm following."
Jamie Goode
"There is none more elegant than Neudorf Moutere Pinot Noir; the dedicated and passionate owners Tim and Judy Finn coaxing the essence and metaphysical "pinosity" out of Pinot Noir, the Antipodean equivalent of Chambolle-Musigny, and currently my favourite wine of this style in the Southern Hemisphere."
Curtis Marsh, Hong Kong Standard
"Neudorf is recognized worldwide as one of New Zealand's iconic producers"
Deanna Van Mulligan, The Wine Diva Canada.
"Neudorf offers an education in terroir and some of the finest wines in the Southern Hemisphere. Their wines have an affinity for texture, density and balance - the result of brilliantly conceived grape growing".
Dr. Paul White, Australian Gourmet Traveler
"Neudorf has a superb reputation for some of Nelson and New Zealand's best Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. The high quality of the other varietals and styles puts this small Upper Moutere producer into contention for the honour of being one of the best wineries of the country."
Raymond Chan Wine Reviews 2011
"Geez, Neudorf is right up there with the best of chardonnay from New Zealand. Love seeing these wines. It's $85NZD for this one, no Aus RRP handy.
Beautiful, beautiful wine. Gentle, succulent, mouth-watering, strong in mineral and flinty inflection but also green apple, grapefruit, green herb. It moves silky and fine through the palate, feels fresh and cool but delivers light savouriness and a strong, citrusy note. Has the sense of quiet complexity, detail and precision, a wine of pedigree easily seen in glass and one that also feels ludicrously moreish. Brilliant. 96 Points."
Mike Bennie

"When grapes are turned into wine by winemakers as talented as Tim Finn, the results can be spectacular. His Moutere Chardonnay would fool many into thinking it was a fine, white Burgundy (it is priced as one, deservedly)."
Jancis Robinson MW
"For many years New Zealand Chardonnay has been in the wilderness with growers encouraged to pull it up to make way for the more popular Sauvignon Blanc But the likes of Bell Hill, Black Estate, Felton Road, Fromm, Kumeu, Neudorf, Mountford, Millton, Pegasus Bay and Pyramid Valley have remained steadfast in their determination to prove NZ an impressive home for the white Burgundy grape."

"I know. New Zealand already gets plenty of column inches. But I can't help it if Neudorf Estate ticks all my small producer boxes with a big, fat, permanent black marker pen. The estate was created in the 1970s, well before the dawn of New Zealand's modern wine industry, by husband and wife duo Judy and Tim Finn in Nelson's Moutere Valley, to the north of South Island territory. The couple remain hands-on to this very day. Tim has now switched from being the full-time winemaker to being the estate's computer whizz and consultant wine taster, while Judy handles the marketing side. She finds the cellar door chit-chat one of the most amusing aspects of her role - particularly when visitors comment on the Finn's great lifestyle. She once told me: 'We work so hard and, while we enjoy the focus and concentration, where did this idea of swing seats, setting suns and oozing cheese come from? Maybe the Gallo brothers' commercials?' "The hard work has brought about a boutique-focused ethos, albeit a boutique with booming sales overseas. On the last count, the Finns had 16 different export markets to satisfy. I'm quite happy with this state of affairs. Neudorf may be small, but as long as I can still have my share here in the UK, I don't mind how many other people are catching on. The wines are beautifully crafted, no matter what style they're turning their hand to. (How many producers can you honestly say that about?) There are crisp and austere Rieslings; Pinot Noirs which can be young, plump and jammy or mature, complex and serious; juicy and ripe roses; quintessentially Kiwi, yet elegant, Sauvignon Blancs; and fine and steely Chardonnays - many producers would kill for just one of these. If you're lucky enough to get to New Zealand, the couple's winery can be found on the tourist trail, but it avoids its worst excesses. Instead, it has a modest, cosy tasting room and, in place of a restaurant, a low-key, beautiful picnic area looking onto the happy Neudorf vines."
Jane Parkinson
"Neudorf is a stunning, stunning winery and a beautiful place to visit. They have an obsession with quality and they produce superb Pinot, superb Riesling and this Nelson Chardonnay 08 is lean and refreshing and an absolute cracker."

"Neudorf tend to stand out of the crowd from Nelson; exacting vision, great vineyard sites, solid winemaking. I do think, increasingly, Nelson is the dark horse for quality pinot noir in New Zealand, however. Lots coming through the ranks. Great zone for aromatic whites increasingly too."
Mike Bennie
"Neudorf wines are the shining lights from Nelson, amongst a small coterie, but they're also some of the best in New Zealand, if you take a straw poll (or in my opinion). Classically styled, happy in their reflection of Nelson's potential as a grape growing area, and owned by some of the more progressive types in wine."

"The thoughtful attention to detail paid by Tim and Judy Finn and their viticultural and winemaking staff, along with over three decades of winegrowing experience have resulted in the Neudorf range of wines figuring among the best in New Zealand. Chardonnay is the signature variety, but I believe Pinot Noir is as outstanding. The ‘Moutere' bottling of Pinot Noir reflects the terroir of the district faithfully, and its consistency in doing so makes it a classical wine of Nelson and New Zealand. It has a proven track record of ageing extremely well, adding to the strength of its pedigree. Here, I review the new release 2012. It is a worthy continuation of a great label."

"Neudorf Vineyards is one of the few wineries in New Zealand that excel with every wine they make. Tim and Judy Finn have taken the greatest care in developing all their wines for over three decades and now reap the benefits of their resource of old vines grown in well-established vineyards in the familiar Moutere clay soils. They have had expert input in viticulture and winemaking over the years, and with all these factors contributing make some of the very best wines in the country. I awarded Neudorf my ‘Winery of the Year in 2012 for their outstanding high quality range, and their position at this top level remains unchanged."

Tiritiri Chardonnay 2021
"Neudorf's inaugural albarino is one of the most complex local examples to date. On top of the variety's classic notes of crisp lemon and apple fruit and the variety's classic briny minerality, it's impressive debut is richly textured with an attractive savoury nutty undercurrent."

Moutere Albarino 2015
"New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc Has a Fresh History," Christina Pickard discusses New Zealand's history of producing Sauvignon Blanc. She suggests that Nelson is a wine-producing region worth exploring: "'It produces Sauvignon Blanc that's crisp and herbaceous, but often with a little more fleshy fruit and complexity, thanks to its sheltered seaside location and abundant sunshine. Neudorf (is a) longstanding producer to try.'"
Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast
"Once was known as Twenty Five Rows Chardonnay, now all (natural) fermented in clay amphora and rested there too. This really mainlines the variety.
Superb expression, coursing with green apple, nectarine and lively citrus fruit characters but more so this strong core of saline minerality, sense of granitic elements and a super appealing waxiness in texture. Flavour is prominent, detail is all there, the energy of the wine translates in compelling drinking. This really is a belter. An emphatic statement about power and grace, yet tension, from NZ chardonnay ranks. 95 points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2021
"Only the third vintage to be produced off a half-hectare portion of Rosie's Block, the 2017 Moutere Albarino is another example of how well this Iberian transplant seems to be taking to New Zealand soils. It's more floral than the Riesling and comes across as slightly richer and creamier, all while offering bold flavours of apple and citrus. Made all in tank, this medium-bodied wine is plump on the palate but fully dry. 90 Points."

Moutere Albarino 2017
"Perhaps one of NZ's greatest white wines. Consistent if nothing else. Organic farmed. Good humans here too. Layers of scent and flavour, a feast for the senses with refreshment factor; chardonnay with texture, gentle savouriness, full flavour of grape and yet this bristling coolness and freshness in tow. Lime, minerally things, light almond nuttiness, wet fern, alpine herbs and green apple juice in bouquet and palate. Just under medium weight but with so much going on. Each glass a revisit to some other detail. Mostly, so very satisfying and good. 96 Points."

Pinot Rosé 2018
"Plush, fresh, fruity and varietal. The bouquet suggests peaches and citrus, a silty stone-like mineral layer and a light lees texture. On the palate - a mirror of what the nose suggests with yellow stone fruit and citrus flavours, an abundance of acidity adding texture and mouth feel. Moderate weight with a youthful tension and grip which relaxes to as the wine opens up on the palate. Well made, a wine to rival its Spanish counterpart. 94 Points."

"Pure, fresh, ripe, focused and nicely concentrated bouquet reflecting aromas of fresh white stone fruits then citrus, a light saline note and layer of clay mineral qualities. Vibrant, textured, fresh and lively on the palate with flavours of citrus and stone fruits, a noticeable fine chalk and saline quality, plenty of acidity causing salivation on the palate and youthful refreshing finish.
Well made and ready to drink from 2022 through 2028. This wine will surprise you at how well it ages over the next 5 years. 94 Points. Excellent."

Rosie's Block Moutere Albarino 2022
"Pure, complex and harmonious bouquet with aromas of mineral then fruit, flowers then barrel and a fine flinty complexity. On the palate - delicious, complex, a wine that talks of texture first then flavours of yellow fruits from peach to grapefruit and quince to lemon. On the second and third sips the wine begin to open up and reveal more layers of intrigue with texture and synergies echoing from oak and lees, a natural wild flower and fine silty soil complexity. A fascinating wine, complex, texture and lengthy. Ready for drinking as soon as you like, but probably best from 2023 through 2030. 97 Points. Outstanding."

Moutere Albarino 2017
"Neudorf earns my vote for making wines of a higher standard across the board that any other New Zealand winery. Best known for its chardonnay and pinot noir, this stylish Nelson winery has applied the same fastidious methods to making a very smart rose. Attractively scented wine with strawberry, pot pourri and wild herb flavours. Initial sweetness is balanced by fine tannins and gentle acidity to give a drying (through not bone dry) finish. Charming wine in a distinctive and individual style."

Rosie's Block 25 Rows Chardonnay 2020
"Pure, fresh, lifted bouquet with soft almost delicate scents of white peach and apple, fresh grapefruit and quince. There's a quiet vanilla and fine toasted barrel layer adding complexity and charm. On the palate - Vibrant, youthful, textured, pure and delicious. Flavours mirror the bouquet with a core of fruit selection showcasing citrus and stone fruits, contrasting acid line, chalky textured tannins and fine flavours of wood with a sweet vanilla edge. Well made, vibrant and delicious. Best drinking from 2022 through 2026+. 94 Points. Excellent."

"This is from Moutere clay gravel soils, and it is wild-fermented in amphora. This is pure and linear with nice pear and citrus fruit, with a nice tensile personality, and notes of stone and mineral providing a counter to the pure fruit. Really fine and expressive, with a slight saltiness. This is pretty serious. 94 Points."

Loads of green apple, nougat and oatmeal but everything doled out in light, clean, clear ways. Supple, succulent texture. Limey freshness a thing, Even, flowing, cool and bright. "Twenty Five Rows has been an amphora-fermented Chardonnay since 2019. In its second vintage, the 2020 provides a pure fruit expression with excellent texture. In combination with the ripe quince fruit and white flowers, there's a lees-derived pastry-like character; it's reported that amphorae improve the lees contact with the wine, and judging by the plush midpalate texture and a light grainy sensation, it seems to be true. Sassy, fresh and lightly grippy on the finish. 90 Points."
Rebecca Gibb MW
Rosie's Block 25 Rows Chardonnay 2020
"Tasted alongside the Rosie's Block Moutere bottling, this is quite a different expression. Although the core of zesty apple and citrus provides a shared family resemblance to its oakier sibling, the shape and flow on the palate are entirely different. After experimenting with partial clay amphora in the previous vintage, this year, Todd has gone all in with 100% of the wine in clay. There is an airiness and lift to this wine which takes it to the ethereal-not just on the sweet herb- inflected nose of thyme and marjoram, but also in how it soars across the palate-barely coming down to land before gently coalescing into a pillowy soft, filigree finish. A natural Spring malo cushions the acidity in this wine, replacing any jagged edges with a feathered outline; but it leaves no imprint on the flavour, no butteriness. This is a paradigm shift for Chardonnay; where the formidable Moutere Home Block is akin to the layered majesty and full-spectrum sound of an orchestra, the Twenty Five rows harnesses a pretty, almost translucent tone; a refrain entirely done in flute and clarinet."

Rosie's Block 25 Rows Chardonnay 2020
"A bright, white gold colour catches the eye immediately. The perfume leaps out of the glass, fresh and salivating with celery, sea spray, white flowers and hints of oyster shell over a base of green pears.
The palate is surprisingly powerful, very long and mouth-coating with almost creamy concentration of ripe pear and early summer stonefruit which is offset by a chalky, mineral phenolic bite and peppery, saline undertow that keeps your interest well after the wine has passed your lips.
Unlike some of the riper, fruitier and more decadent vintages of this wine, the 2022 has the vigour and energy of a brisk plunge into a welcomingly cool ocean on a scorching hot day. An aromatically complex, refreshing and intensely flavoursome Albarino which is so comfortable in its skin, this deserves to be in every chilly-bin this summer. 17.5+ Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Chardonnay 2020
"Really fantastic bouquet with scents of ripe yellow fleshed stone fruit and leesy complexity, a mix of older and new barrel scents and a natural harmonious complexity. Inviting, youthful and varietal. On the palate - a silky texture touches the palate first followed by a youthful bite of acidity and textures from oak and lees. There's a fine chalky feel embellished by flavours of stone and tree fruits, vanilla and a fine toasty barrel complexity. An excellent wine with perfect drinking from mid 2022 through 2028+. 95 Points. Outstanding."

"Hailing from Rosie's Block, which also the fruit source for Twenty Five Rows Chardonnay, the 2020 Chardonnay Rosie's Block Moutere offers plush fruit weight that seems to be a factor in this vintage. Unlike the other Twenty Five Rows cuvee, which was fermented in amphora, this is fermented and matured in barrel (18% new). The barrel expression seems to have provided a more athletic expression; the wine glides powerfully but gracefully like a speed skater across the palate. 92 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Chardonnay 2020
"A touch of smoky oak on the nose, underpinned by zesty apple and citrus aromas. The malolactic fermentation aromas are very subtle, though it contributes a gently buttery flavour. The palate delivers a mouthful of unabashed Chardonnay - rich and creamy up-front, with a round, fruit-filled centre and lashings of fresh cream - lots of generosity and decadence. This will bring joy to Chardonnay lovers, especially those who do not feel left out by the move towards leaner, more mineral, oak-shy styles. There is lots to enjoy here, without being high-brow or cerebral. Just enough acidity to balance the generous fruit, ample oak, hints of butteriness and mouth-filling creamy richness. It comes close to the line but never crosses over into old-fashioned."

"Rather neutral nose. Just enough residual sugar; the wine might be a little austere without. Clean and brisk, with even more lime flavour than the Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020. Clean and crisp with marked acidity. Tastes antipodean rather than German. Bone-dry finish. This may well acquire more interest with time in bottle. 16 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Riesling Dry 2021
"A carefully balanced, perfumed nose combines ripe citrus, campari-like pithiness, Morrocan spice and delicate sweet herbal/floral aromas. The interplay of fruit, peels, oils and blossoms carries on through the palate. There is an invigorating, mouthwatering juiciness of fruit and acidity which belies the grainy phenolic texture and noticeably palate weight. Dry, but not austere with a welcome, cleansing phenolic bitterness on the finish which gives it a grown-up balance. Despite being aromatic and approachable, this is young and still a little shy. I suspect, given the gentler fruit expression, that it will always be on the more delicate, precocious side but the firm, spicy, pithy finish suggests that a decade of cellaring is not out of the question. 17 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Riesling Dry 2022
"The crisp, crystalline version of all the chardonnay from Neudorf, this one is flint, smoke, saline minerality, struck match and green apple crunch. Decent bit of limey acidity here too, some white peach notes faintly there, but that cut and thrust is the main deal. Tight, tense, refreshing. A filigreed version of chardonnay with high drinkability, zing and coolness. This is a great drink. 94 points."

Rosie's Block Moutrere Chardonnay 2020
"Rosie's Blocks seem to have some serious mojo. Excellent wines come from this place, with gentle winemaking alongside. Or considered but gentle. Anyways, Neudorf really shows form with chardonnay and should be on radars for the cognoscenti.
Flavourtown, but judged well. Deep chardonnay flavours, touches of oak and lees savouriness in the mix, a lively, fino-like saline minerally lick and gently palate staining characters more generally. It's fragrant, shows concentration but freshness, beautifully balanced and superb, invigorating finish. Classic, done so righteously. Smokin' wine. 95 Points."

"This has an elegant and stylishly proportioned nose with restrained aromas of gooseberries and stonefruits revealing mineral, white floral and citrus detail in the glass. Dry to taste, this is very fine-featured with intense flavours of gooseberries, stonefruits, citrus and limes. The fruit notes are nuanced and interwoven, forming a good core with presence, and have a deliciously subtle richness which is enhanced by bright, lively acidity. The palate has excellent tension and a refined mouthfeel that flows to a lingering, softly dry finish. This is a beautifully refined and detailed Sauvignon Blanc with a stylish array of flavours. Tasted alongside the 2012 vintage I preferred the generosity, richness and warmth of this younger wine. Very classy wine that grows in the glass (a brief period of decanting is recommended). 93/100

"Neudorf, in the Upper Moutere Valley, was founded in 1978 by Tim and Judy Finn, and since then they have built a formidable reputation for both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. However, the Sauvignon Blanc is also worthy of praise with winemaker Todd Stevens taking great care to preserve a textural quality achieved through barrel and wild ferments. As they say, their Savvy is one to try if you're tired of "the traditional acid-queen, nettle and gooseberry blockbusters", so expect something different."

"Unlike the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the 2017 Sauvignon Blanc comes off vineyards on the Waimea Plains. Twenty percent is barrel fermented to try to get some more texture into the wine. Always a touch green, the 2017 is no exception, showing hints of green bean that come dangerously close to asparagus, but then it balances those with currant and pink grapefruit notes. "Sleek, powerful, mineral-laced chardonnays that give a nod in the direction of Burgundy."
Bob Campbell MW
"Spicy and perfumed, the 2021 introduces a riper range of stone fruit and baking spice to the usual citrus salt and floral notes this Albarino usually shows. Winemaker, Todd Stevens has previously theorised that the variety tends to display these richer notes in lower-yielding or drier years and conversely, more sea-spray and citrus in wetter ones.
On the palate, it is powerful with an almost oily texture; rich and rounded up front yet finishing with a lip-smacking burst of salivating acidity. Despite the obvious added weight and complexity on the palate, it still retains a refreshing lift. This is a more brooding and muscular example of Albariño with plenty of lees-derived weight and creaminess to counter the bracing spine of acid.
Great wines can convey dioramas and mood. Through the broad strokes of marine, sun and density; this one paints a picture of wide skies with fluffy thick white clouds rolling over sunny wind-swept hills of grass, punctuated by old trees reaching up to meet them. The warm coastal air betraying a hint of rain hovering just beyond view.
Unlike some of the more varietal examples which are crisp, light and thirst-quenching on release, this is denser with a seriousness that suggests cellaring would allow it time to reveal all it has to offer. I would expect this to retain its poise for the next three to five years while developing honeyed, butterscotch complexity to accompany the savoury, saline undertow that runs down the middle of the palate. That said, given how delicious it is and the small production, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that very few bottles make it to year five!

"The 2021 Chardonnay Home Block Moutere is Neudorf's flagship cuvee. While it becomes increasingly refined over the years, it always blooms in the mouth, creating a round and suave impression. Hailing from the north-west corner of New Zealand's South Island, this is cool climate viticulture precision. You can expect savoury, oatmeal-like flavours joining pure white stone fruit with the faintest hint of smokiness on the lithe medium-length finish. "There’s nothing uptight nor skinny about the 2021 Chardonnay Rosie’s Block Moutere. It is relaxed in its own skin and comfortable in its curves and succulent texture. Spontaneous fermentation plus a year on lees with a monthly stirring built richness through the wine’s core. A well-judged amount of nutty oak-derived flavour joins nectarine and lemon cream. And yet, it doesn’t want for freshness, finishing clean with a spine of vibrant acidity which courses through the middle of this wine and provides line and length. It’s delightfully balanced offering a little bit of everything you really want from a Chardonnay. 93 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Chardonnay 2021
"This classy, punchy wine was estate-grown at Upper Moutere. Full-bodied, vibrant, concentrated tangy, it has deep, citrusy, slightly limey and spicy flavours, hint of saltiness and a dryish, appetisingly crisp, lasting finish. Five Stars."
Michael Cooper
Moutere Albarino 2017
"This does actually smell of Albarino (fresh and marine)! Though the acidity is pretty sharp at the moment. I'd wait until around April 2021 ideally before drinking this. Lightly astringent finish. 15.5 Points."

Rosie's Block Moutere Albarino 2020
"This is a noticeably brassier gold. Complex with a cinnamon licorice note on the nose, more citrus than apple, more stark with a lack of oak, a more grainy texture to the otherwise very smooth palate. A firm but fine texture like terra cotta. Tighter acidity, a real line here with that phenolic chalkiness emerging on the end. Just on the edge of baked but detailed with a lot more hot seashell than the Rosie's. As always, stunningly singular, detailed yet freeform. Feathery leading to etched on the finish. A touch more alcohol and weight than previous vintages, and just a bit austere with a pithiness which recalls grapefruit on the finish, Very interesting balance, this is less Chardonnay than it is Amphora. More delicate perfume, citrus and floral. The palate is bony, polished but unadorned at the same time. Contemplative this year, inward and late to emerge. Potentially very fine. Tight, wound on the finish. 17.5 Points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2021
"Tim and Judy Finn of Neudorf in New Zealand's Nelson region produce world-class wines which are remarkable for their quality and consistency. As confirmation, a 2000 Moutere Chardonnay showed at dinner one evening sat comfortably alongside a 1er cru Puligny Montrachet."
Anthony Rose, The Wine Gang UK
"From grapes grown by two growers with vineyards in Moutere clay gravel soils together with fruit from Neudorf Rosie's Block. A vibrant, tangy chardonnay with grapefruit, citrus, white peach, ginger and nutty yeast lees characters. An elegant wine that offers good value at this price. 94 Points."
Bob Campbell MW
Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020
"Aromas and flavours of grapefruit and ripe peaches, red apple and spices of oak layered between mineral and clay with a stony gravel suggestion. White flowers and citrus. Delicious on the palate with layers of citrus to stone fruit, apple to quince. The combination of mineral soil, oak and acidity with fine wood tannins lead to a fine finish. Not too unlike a Chablis this wine is an excellent aperitif style, but will also suit fresh whole baked fish and similar dishes. Well made, of course, and ready to drink from late 2022 through 2028+. 94 Points. Excellent."
Cameron Douglas MS
Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020
"Pretty notes of peaches, apples, pie crust and chamomile. Elegant and creamy, with a medium body and tangy acidity. Bright lemony lift at the end. 93 Points."
James Suckling
Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020
"Attractively stony nose. Excellent balance of fruit and acidity. If this is their entry-level wine, it certainly promises well. Crisp and crystalline. Really very impressive indeed. It may not last all that long but for a current drinking, refreshing Chardonnay, with a dash of lime, I really don't think one could ask for more. 16.5 Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020
"Soft and round, ripe stone fruit laden and licked at with vanilla cream and honey butter, albeit a cool, icy lemon water acid line keeps things nice and fresh with all that plushness going on. Easy drinking, elementary expression of general joy and good DNA of the variety. 90 Points."
Mike Bennie
Tiritiri Chardonnay 2020
"Ripe, soft, pinot gris with white peach, ripe pear and subtle lime-citrus flavours. A delicately succulent wine, with an initial hint of sweetness leading to a crisp and satisfyingly dry finish. 93 Points."
Bob Campbell MW
Tiritiri Pinot Gris 2019
"Low-key, creamy nose and quite a bit of residual sugar. Clean, bright fruit and a bit phenolic on the end. Perfectly fine but none of the savoury character of a really good Pinot Gris. 15.5 Points"
Jancis Robinson MW
Tiritiri Pinot Gris 2019
"The inaugural vintage for the Tiritiri label, which utilizes fruit sourced from Neudorf's growers in the Moutere hills. This is a supple, plush wine with roses, talc and exotic spice notes that I often associate with wild fermentation. A really welcoming, open style that has great drinkability. 87 points."
Rebecca Gibb MW
Tiritiri Pinot Gris 2019
"A captivating, fresh, varietal and fruity boquuet with aroma sand flavours of freh green pear, red apple flesh and spice.

Tiritiri Pinot Gris 2022
"A stylish and very accessible pinot noir, with a mix of fruit and savoury flavours including plum, dark cherry, black fruits, a touch of dried herbs and spicy oak flavours, tobacco leaf and baked earth characters. Good value at this price. 94 Points."

Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2020
"Complex, fine, youthful, varietal and detailed bouquet. Aromas of fine gravel and silty soils are intertwined with scents of dark berries, cherry and plum. Youthful, firm and equally complex on the palate and as with the bouquet, a complex wine with a core of fruits flavours and red flowers, mineral and earthy qualities that reflect the bouquet. Firm, taut, youthful and delicious. A wine that needs time in glass to open up or time in your cellar to further develop complexities and integration. Well with best drinking from late 2023 through 2033+. 95 Points. Outstanding."
Cameron Douglas MS
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2020
"A perfumed nose of red cherries, baked strawberries, rose and bark. Medium-bodied with silky tannins. On the palate it is pretty and fresh, with delicacy and nuance. Floral character to the red berry notes. Lovely. 93 Points."
James Suckling
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2020
"Transparent garnet. A little stewed on the nose. Pretty, sweet fruit on the palate. Not too complex but refreshing without being too tart. Growly, minerally undertow. And without great fruit concentration and a rather metallic finish. You could really enjoy this in a wine bar. 16 Points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2020
"Dark fresh blackberry and plum with as gently spicy liquorice note underpinning the fruit. Silky ripe tannins give a subtle layer of texture and there is a crisp, poised finish. Plenty of wine for the price. 93 Points."
Jane Skilton MW
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2020
"Serious pinot noir with cassis, dark cherry, anise/spice, plum, dark chocolate, and nutty oak flavours. Although it can be appreciated now this wine is built to last for more than a decade. 95 Points."
Bob Campbell MW
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2021
"Transparent blueish crimson. Pure, peppery, confident fruity aromas that are very much its own character rather than a copy of red burgundy. Something quite dry on the finish rather than sweet but appetising! Good food wine. Notably firm but not excessive tannins on the end. I'd say this is rather a defiant wine that is determined to go its own way. Good persistence and not that much hurry to drink it. 16.5 points."
Jancis Robinson MW
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2021
"Rich, savoury pinot with grape stem, cherry, plum, dried herb and mixed spice flavours. Needs time to mellow but the future looks promising. Firmly-structured pinot noir with a backbone of drying tannins. 93 Points."
Bob Campbell MW
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2022
"Pure, ripe, fresh, youthful and engaging bouquet. Aromas of fresh ripe and tart cherry flesh, red currant and stone clay soil scents. The oak layers in a judicious amount with scents of sweet spice and light brown baking spice complexities. Firm, youthful, dry and taut as the wine touches the palate. Flavours mirror the bouquet with red berries and cherry flavours. The minerality and spice qualities remain persistent. A delicious wine with a youthful charm and light floral elegant notes. 93 Points."
Cameron Douglas MS
Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2022
"Very pale garnet. Lively and well rounded. Masses of pleasure. Sweet but not sickly and recognisably Pinot with real freshness. Light body - for early drinking. VGV. 16.5 Points."

Tom's Block Moutere Pinot Noir 2022
"Ultra-fresh and energetic, this wine roars with summer florals, popcorn and roast peach aromas, crisp citrus and mouthwatering minerality. The oak supports the fruit nicely, resulting in a deliciously clean, elegant style." Gold Medal.

Rosie's Block Moutere Chardonnay 2023
"Very appealing albarino, with strong citrus, orange zest and mandarin backed by subtle spiciness. A flavoursome wine in a truly dry, but not austere, style and boasting a lengthy finish."
Bob Campbell MW
Moutere Albarino 2015
"What an excellent wine and one that showcases the breadth and depth of Chardonnay, and, that Chardonnay doesn't need oak to be fabulous. Aromas and flavours of apple and flowers, whites rose and chalk, lemon and white peach. A dry wine on the palate and one that delivers of core fruit flavours, textures and complexity. The amphora ferment technique captures flavours and textures of soil and place, a Chablis-like style with its floral highlights and pristine fruit flavours from citrus to stone fruits then soil and chalky textures. A lovely wine ready to drink from 2023 through 2029+.
95 Points."

Rosie's Block Amphora Chardonnay 2022
"When grapes are turned into wine by winemakers as talented as Tim Finn, the results can be spectacular. His Moutere Chardonnay would fool many into thinking it was a fine, white Burgundy (it is priced as one, deservedly)."
Jancis Robinson MW
"Youthful, fragrant, delicate and fresh red fruited bouquet with aromas and flavours of light red plum and cherry flesh, a touch of red apple skin and guava. A fine satin texture touches the palate first then flavours of cherry, cranberry and red apple skin follow. Refreshing acid line with a hint of saline adds additional mouthfeel. Balanced, well made and ready to drink from 2022 through end of summer 2024. 93 Points. Excellent."
